We provide broadcast quality live streaming of funerals and thanksgiving services to a private web page to share with your family and friends around the world.

Live streams can be done from places of worship, a crematorium, at the graveside or any space. We use our own internet and power so your live stream can happen from anywhere, as long as we have permission to be there and there is cellular coverage. There is a single cameraman present and the coverage is not intrusive or insensitive. The readings, eulogies and music are all included - many say, it’s just like being there. There is also an opportunity to show live stream viewers family photographs during the service.

Funeral Live Streaming Across Scotland

Please note we are Broadcast TV professionals using the same technology currently in use in live television. We don’t use iPads or online meeting platforms like Zoom or Facetime. The screening doesn’t use social media channels - we use our own private web page. The funeral video recording can be viewed for 28 days afterwards and a free digital download is provided.

“I watched it with some of the family in the evening and was very pleased with how you captured not only the event but also the surroundings. The photographs you fed in worked very well too from our perspective.”

-Bethan

“Thank you so much for live streaming the service yesterday. We were very impressed with the result. None of us even realised that there must have been a second camera at the side of the hall until we viewed it afterwards. The different angles, the close-up shots and the photos made it so much more interesting to watch than those fixed cameras up on a wall which we were familiar with from lockdown funerals. The sound quality was excellent too.

-Sandra

“A great thing to have, and I've had so many comments from people, both those in Scotland who I couldn't fit into the final 50, and those overseas who couldn't be here, saying how good it was to be able to join via the livestream, and what good quality the picture and sound were. I'm really glad we chose to do it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Up to three broadcast standard HD cameras with wireless microphones transmit live pictures and sound combining several mobile phone networks to a private website. A fourth camera can often be located outside to cover the cortege arrival or departure. There are no trailing cables or light stands. Depending on layout of the space, the camera operator stands at the rear, out of sight. We don’t use iPads, Zoom or YouTube. The Live Stream can show family photographs of your loved one during the service and pre-recorded audio or video tributes supplied in advance. This is included in the cost. If a large amount of people is expected to come to the service, an optional hall video feed or external PA speaker can be arranged if requested in advance.

The cameras are often positioned in the church gallery

Where can it be done?

It works from places of worship, a crematorium, a cemetery, anywhere. As long as there is mobile phone coverage and permission to be there. For a crematorium service, we can be set up and ready in fifteen minutes.

Is it the same as the service offered by my local crematorium?

No. The crematorium has a single unmanned CCTV camera. Please also check with the crematorium to see if a recording is possible.

Can the video of the live stream be viewed afterwards?
Yes. When the live stream ends, a video recording is immediately available for 28 days using the link provided. A private digital download recording is included at no charge.

I like the idea but I'm unsure of having a camera present at such a difficult time. Have other families mentioned this?
Yes and it turned out not to be a problem. The cameraman only focuses on the officiant. There are no close-ups of mourners, only wide shots showing a gathering of people there to offer support to the family. The cameraman does not move from his spot throughout the service and so does not distract attention. Those watching online will see and hear the service from beginning to end including music and eulogies. While a eulogy is being given, the viewers will also see family pictures of your loved one if previously supplied by the family. Many say "It was just like being there"

Cameras are positioned sensitvely and do not move

I’m thinking of doing it myself. Can that be done?

Firstly, it’s a lot to ask of someone attending a funeral. Without microphones it will be difficult to pick up what is being said and mobile phones/tablets uploading live video, quickly run out of battery power. Keep in mind that Facebook and Youtube will drop your live feed as soon as a copyrighted music track is heard. Zoom is great for one-to-one meetings but not suited to larger gatherings like funerals using just a phone or tablet . Lastly, at such a sensitive time, there’s a lot to get right and so it’s a relief having someone else looking after things.

The space we want does not have speakers or a projector annd screen - can you help with this?

Yes this is often requested so everyone can hear what is being said inside and outside the space, or to show those gathered pictures during the service at a time of reflection.

Pictures can be shown in the room and on the live stream simultaneously

“We had lots of kind messages saying how great it was to be able to see the service, and many people commented on how well the pictures and sound came across - and appreciated the pictures of mum that were included.”

“The livestream was better than anything we expected. Pam and Gordon said it was like watching a TV programme (River City) They even heard the birds sing, so well worth the money as they felt that was the closest way of being there. I would recommend the gentleman to anyone who was thinking about livestreaming.”
